High time to stop procrastinating and finish off things!
“I have a lot of work to do, but I don’t feel like doing it.”
“I want to exercise, but I don’t have the motivation to do so.”
“I still have a lot of time. Maybe I will start tomorrow.”
If you can relate to these sentences, then this blog article is designed personally for you. Yes, you are right. We will talk about procrastination and how easy it is to overcome it.
But before we start, let me tell you that you are not alone. Each of us has been through that phase where it seemed almost impossible to leave that comfy bed and get to work. But for some, it has become a chronic, pervasive and un-escapable pattern. No doubt, it seems a struggle. I know you have read several articles and watched multiple videos before, but none of it seem to be working. Maybe that’s because we procrastinate upon implementing those too? Don’t worry! I am here to give you a solid plan so that you can break that complex pattern and free yourself through it.
With the tricks I am about to share, getting your work done and winning over your mind and body will be like a cakewalk.
So let’s get started.
1.Try morning meditation.
For many years, Meditation in the morning increases focus and peace. Even sparing mere 5 minutes every day will bring a significant change.
You will experience a massive change in the tasks in your whole day. Even heavier and mind-boggling tasks will seem easy.
To achieve the best results, try it every day. Be it in your room, garden, or terrace, close your eyes and meditate. You will feel your life starting to change.

2.Create a To-Do list every day.
Formulate a plan for the whole day and how you will proceed further with your day. Just writing your tasks is not enough because it has only a 33% chance of completion. You need to create a to-do list with a time slot for each. Check out my YouTube video on how you can make a perfect To-Do list for your day.

People who make a specific plan for when and where they would perform a new habit are more likely to follow through.
3.Action brings motivation
There is this popular notion that I can’t do this work because I don’t feel motivated. Wrong! Contrary to this belief, the truth is once action starts, motivation comes automatically. You only need to start. Say to your mind that you will start and give your best only for 15 minutes.
Once the brain accelerates, it is easier to move forwards now. You will be surprised to find that dopamine rush after completing the task that was lingering on for days and months.
4.Stay active.
If you are preparing for a competitive exam or have a big pile of work, you don’t have to sit for 8 hours straight because you promised yourself that. Take breaks and reward yourself. That is equally important and gives you that dopamine risk that motivates you to do more work in a better way.
After completing your task target, take a walk, talk to your friends, take deep breaths, and eat that favorite snack.
Beware! Do not fall into the trap of social media. It is not a break but an energy consumer making you fall into the trap again giving you useless information that uses the energy and focuses that you should have used to complete your task.
5.Do easy and more interesting tasks in the beginning.
If you have a big pile of work and are feeling overwhelmed and anxious, simply start the task with the easiest one. That will help you reduce the activation energy to achieve further objectives.
6.Avoid distractions.
I guess everyone knows which is the biggest distraction everyone has these days. You thought it correct—SmartPhones. Are you serious about completing your task? Then, switch that thing off.
Read more: Is your smartphone a distraction even when it’s switched off? Here’s what needs to be done.
6.Push yourself.
Getting up from that comfy couch and leaving the phone is a real struggle! Sit straight, take a deep breath, count backward 5-4-3-2-1, and then get up. Just get into your room or gym and start the work. No second thoughts!
A famous quote goes, “Push yourself because no one else is going to do it for you”.
Push yourself out of every situation whenever you feel it is self-sabotaging.
7.Forgive yourself.
Wasted your whole day? Now comes the role of guilt and self-hatred. I am sure each of us has been through this when we plan our Sundays for a particular task and end up wasting it and now left with the evening blaming ourselves for being lazy.
But who realizes that even after six in the evening, if we work till midnight, we still have six hours to complete the task rather than wasting it hating ourselves. Just get started!
Listen to me, chap. To feel guilty and blame yourself for how you wasted your time is useless and time-consuming. Take the lesson and use the tips mentioned the next time you have a free day full of tasks. Do not fall into the trap again.
8.Improve by 1% every day
Procrastinating every day and now created a To-do list? All ready to go for your day! Accomplishing one extra task is a small feat on any given day, but it counts much more over an entire career. The effect of automating an old work or mastering a new skill can be even greater. The more tasks you can handle without thinking, the more your brain is free to focus on other areas. Add a small extra task every day, and improve by just 1% every day, making you 365% better in a year. Amazing. Isn't it?
9.Limit yourself to short work periods
I have a whole blog article on the Pomodoro technique and how you can use it to overcome laziness. You can check it out here.
10.Use motivational quotes.
If you still feel, you lack motivation, use motivational quotes in your workspace or room. You can write it yourself or get it printed and read it aloud every day. Just pasting quotations would not suffice if you will not give them a second look. Every time you feel like procrastinating, just read it and know why you are doing that work.
Concluding the article, The major limitation which stops us from achieving the best results is our mind. To win over the brain is the best victory one can achieve. Just stop listening to irrelevant talks and demotivation your mind gives you, be mindful in your work, and with full awareness and consciousness, ask yourself,
Should I be procrastinating right now?
How will it affect me in the long run?
Say to yourself, "I need to get up and do what I need to do."
THAT WILL BE YOUR BIGGEST VICTORY EVER!
Good luck and Best wishes
Lots of love.
