Faced a failure? How to overcome and get over it.
Have you faced failure in your life ever?
I can bet there is not even a single person on this earth who has not faced failures in their lives in one or the other way. Each one of us has faced that pain of failure to avoid which we work tirelessly and relentlessly but still, sometimes failures are inevitable and we cannot just avoid them. But the question is how can we overcome such failures?
Fall seven times, stand up eighth.
Sitting down and just crying and regretting what happened is not even an option in these competitive days. There will be days when you will realize that enough time has been wasted and now something needs to be done to get over that failure. Easier said than done, moving forward after a failure is the only way to get over a failure.
Breaking these steps into bits and pieces, I have formulated some ways by which you can easily overcome those tough moments and start moving forward towards your success journey.
So let’s get started.
1. Accept the fact
The first and foremost thing that you need to do immediately after facing a failure is to accept the fact that things didn’t go your way. Feeling your emotions and being aware of how you feel after certain situations will help you get through most of your tough life situations. Recognizing your pattern of emotions is the best thing to do to protect your mental health and maintain your sanity in tough times.
To know how you can get to know yourself better there is a bonus tip for you guys at the end of this blog but before going down here are some other amazing things I have to tell you.
So returning to the main topic, be positive and accept that failure is a part of your success journey and nothing worthwhile will ever come easily and instantly.
In our childhood we have all heard, “Try, Try, Try till you reach your goal” and now is the time to imply those quotes in your life.
Before moving to the next point I want to let you guys know that FAILURES DON’T DEFINE YOU.
2. Don’t Compare yourself
Living in an era of social media where comparing yourselves to others is so easy, we people often fall into the trap of comparing ourselves with others which ultimately makes us feel like a piece of shit. This is the worst thing you can do to your self-esteem which will eventually blur the potential options which you would have otherwise had to move forwards and restart your success journey.
In the present era, people who constantly compare themselves to others are more at risk of depression and it can even make them suicidal.
Failure is already a depressing episode for some and then at that moment comparing ourselves to others just adds fuel to the fire.
3. Ignore the toxic people
Yes, you read it right you need to ignore those people who will pull you down once you have failed in some area of your life. Try to stay away from them as much as you can and do not let anyone make you feel worse for that. You know what has happened and how much damage it has caused you don’t need anyone to make you feel worse and tell you that you are a failure.
Remember, negative people will find a problem in every solution.
3. Find out what went wrong
Once you are emotionally stable and have accepted the failure, you need to analyze what were the mistakes that you did that ultimately led you to failure. Retrospect each and everything that you did, you can even write that on paper if you need. Know what went wrong and what were the mistakes that were made the last time and analyze them.
You can make a table just like I did and in front of every mistake that you feel has occurred, write down the solution you feel is correct. To find the solution you can even take the help of your parents or your teachers or anyone expert in that field.
4. Start finding alternatives
So, now is the time you should start pondering things that can help you repair the damage or help you take another step so that you can move forward in your success journey.
Take a piece of paper and start writing as many alternatives as possible, which will help you open the door to success.
Do not shy away from asking for some ideas from your parents, friends, teachers, or mentor. Maybe they can tell you some amazing ideas which you could have otherwise never thought of.
Bonus Tip:
Meditate every morning.
Avoid negative stuff in the morning especially social media and newspapers.
Write ten things you are grateful for every day and see how your life transforms.
Make a To-Do List every night for the next day.
See every day as a fresh start, don’t let your past failures define you.
